The video was about how the prayers does affect to our brain and body scientifically. Chris usually prays in her daily life; when she prays, she can feel relaxation, peace, and silence in her mind, but she never knew how praying affects the brain and the body positively. She continued watching. That video was done by a female influencer who is famous. In the beginning, that influencer explained simply that science has found that when we pray, it reduces and removes our anxiety, anger, and fear, and when we do spiritual activities to calm our mind, that helps our parasympathetic nervous system get activated, and it takes our body to a reset level. Chris found this video interesting and kept watching.
That video explained that the way we pray affects our brain functions too. When we do prayers in dialogue, like when we talk with God like a friend when we are alone or at other times, research has proven that it helps to activate the Prefrontal Cortex of our brain, and it removes the anxiety and loneliness we feel. When we do prayers according to a rhythm, for example, when we pray the rosary like singing, the vagus nerve activates according to that rhythm, and it controls blood circulation and the heartbeat. This kind of prayer takes our body and mind into a state of quick relaxation.
This video explained what happens when we practice praying for a long time. It is like we take our brain to a gym. Over time, it changes the strength of the brain. In other words, it gets rewired. Focus improves, decision-making improves, and emotional control improves. This was proven by a research team using a group of people who practiced praying for a long time.
This video inspired Chris and helped her to understand what a prayer can do in our lives. And she is currently experiencing these changes in her life. This story is none other than my own experience.
