The Gen Z Role Models Project

Wondering what exactly he was talking about. He learned that this individual was Catholic but he had never heard so much lore before and found himself captivated despite never considering himself religious.

When he was younger he loved the idea of Greek gods and all the stories that came with it. He would spend hours on hours reading books like Percy Jackson, or anything that vaguely resembled Greek myths and legends. The myths and the legends were definitely the part he found most intriguing and fun. Going to mass as a child he would constantly catch his mind wandering to those myths of monsters and legends and wondering why his church couldn’t be that interesting.

But now he was hearing stories of saints he had never heard of or stories he was never told. Through watching these TikTok videos he eventually came across another user, a priest who would analyze media, anime, movies, etc though the lens of spirituality and Christianity and deeply enjoyed it. Even if the priest wasn’t always using Christianity as a lens it was just nice hearing a priest interested more than just Jesus story after Jesus story and not trying to claim everything that wasn’t explicitly Christian was secretly satanic or trying to corrupt.

It was also refreshing to see the priest and other content creators also believed science and that not everything in the Bible was black and white and should be taken so hyper literally. And that if it was taken literally it leads to contradiction.

Jesses considered going back to church but remembering how dull it was as a child continued to watch his videos.
