He was deeply inspired. He felt as if his inner thirst for peace and meaning was somewhat quenched at the words spoken in the video. The speakers words deeply resonated with him but his skeptical mindset created an conflict within him. On the one hand he wanted to believe what he was hearing was true. On the other hand he was afraid that he was just romanticising, wanting to commit to a fairy tale. He wanted to believe it was true badly. His urge to believe was partly motivated by intuition. What he knew about the world and life, could somehow only be justified by the truth claim presented in the video. So the boy decided to give it a try. He figured he could use a skeptics approach and try and disprove the claim by entertaining it for a while. This is the way at getting to the truth isn’t it, the scientific method?
As He began to practice the message of the video the boy started to come around to the idea of Christianity proclaimed in the video. He considered himself a personal witness to the profound changes in his life, realising only God could have made them and that they must have stemmed from his attempt of faith and prayer.
However, the boy was further conflicted by his skeptical mindset. He often felt a pull from other people in the world and their perspective on life. He could however not ignore the perspective granted to him by faith and decided to keep struggling directed towards God. Following the advice in the video, he kept praying was continually rewarded by experiencing grace: a perspective on life and his fellow man that deeply resonated with his soul and concretely changed his life for the better.
