“Nyasha couldn’t help but keep watching this video” (S195)

Nyasha couldn’t help but keep watching this video and before she knew it, she was on this random account scrolling back and back and back into the older videos all taking about this God. She had never much thought about much beyond her day to day life, and living in this moment never mind a God and the idea of life after death. She never had the time before, but here she was for the first time really thinking, really wondering…is there a point to all this? Does someone out there actually care for me.

A few days later she found herself still thinking about this idea of God and something bigger than herself. there was no escaping it. Every spare minute she had she was no longer interested in the mindless scroll, she went back time and time again to that account, to that same video to that same girl who looked no older than her making her case for a man named Jesus. ‘Eventually,’ she thought to herself ‘I’ll have to stop stalking this poor girls account like a desperate ex and find something else that can tell me about this Jesus’; she continued though with he life: work, uni, socials and the occasional mindful yoga class. it was the same cycle but all now underscored with existential panic, even mindful yoga ended up being anything but relaxing as the whole way through the questions whizzed and zapped in her mind like an abundance of
in an empty room.

It was after mindful yoga that she decided enough was enough. Nyasha needed to know if anyone else had wrestled with the same questions and where they ended up. Soon enough she found herself at the bottom of another internet rabbit hole of story after story of people of all ages just like her whose lives lacked meaning, depth or purpose until one day they too thought a little too hard about what was out there. Video after Video, scroll after scroll she found that each of them had the same old story…they had no meaning until they found it. they had no purpose until they found it but she could help but shake the feeling that meaning was finding her. she was never searching but one day curiosity found her, or…she dared to imagine that maybe just maybe someone had found her and met here right were she was.
