“It gave me hope” (S159)

learning. It gave me hope. I knew I had a ridiculous amount of work to do, but in that moment I was enraptured by the God who has saved me. Who hadn’t forsaken me, and had a plan for my life. I knew that I was in a waiting season, being honed and prepared for what was to come. What that was, I hadn’t the foggiest. The emails melted away, and I listened as the video explained that God had a plan, but like Lot’s wife, I needed to not look back. I needed to not cement myself in the past, God cannot use me then, but instead I needed to keep turning to God, keep showing up. Because one day it will be worth it, and when I make it to heaven, I’ll hear “well done my good and faithful servant”. My biggest fear almost, is getting there and having God say, look at what you could have been, look at what I had planned for you. Why didn’t you have faith it would all work out? So, I put my phone down, resumed my PhD studies, and had faith.
